Abstract

Objective:To observe the curative effect of acupuncture combined with Chinse herb by humid wet compressing in the treatment of facial neuritis. Methods:In the clinical observation,60 patients were assigned randomly to the target group (by the treatment of acupuncture combined with Chinse herb by humid wet compressing) and the control group (by the treatment of acupuncture solely). The target group. The observation lasted for 4 weeks. The severity of illness and curative effect were scaled and accessed by the House—Brackmann(H-B)facial nerve grading scale and Toronto facial grading system(TFGS),which was recommended in the 5th International Facial Neurosurgery Symposium. The SPSS 17.0 was ultimately applied to analyse the data acquired in this study.Results:1.There were statistically significant differences in the curative effect between the the target group and the control group, accessed by the H-Bfacial nerve grading scale and TFGS. (P<0.05)2.There were statistically significant differences in the curative effect between the the target group and the control group, and the effective rate were 96.7% and 73.3% respectively. (P<0.05).Conclusion:1.Acupuncture combined with Chinse herb by humid wet compressing is an effective treatment in facial neuritis.2.The therapeutic effect of acupuncture combined with Chinse herb by humid wet compressing is superior to acupuncture solely.3.Acupuncture combined with Chinse herb by humid wet compressing is safe and curative in treating facial neuritis.
