Abstract


Objective:The aim of this study is to assess the differences between OPCAB and CABG by meta-analsis of incidence of atrial fibrillation and myocardial infarction in coronary bypass graft.Methods:A literature search for the ending in March 2010 supplemented with manual bibliographic review was performed for all peer-reviewed English language publications. And according to the strict inclusion and exclusion criteria, two reviewers independently selected the literature and in accordance with the Cochrane Handbook for Systematic Review of the proposed 5.0.0 version of the evaluation methods of quality assessment into clinical trials, the final data will be extracted using RevMan 5 software data processing and analysis.Results:344 literatures were retrieved after selecting. Comparison of the incidence of atrial fibrillation into the final 27 studies, for a total of 3029 and 3096 grafts performed during OPCAB and CABG procedures. Incidence of atrial fibrillation was 17.4% and 23.0%; Meta analysis of these studies showed that the incidence of atrial fibrillation after OPCAB even lower, the difference was statistically significant (OR=0.65,95%CI=[0.52,0.82], P= 0.0002). Myocardial infarction (MI) was assessed in 25 trials. The incidence of MI was 3.0% in the OPCAB group and 3.9% in the CCABG group. No significant difference was found between two groups(OR=0.73, 95%CI=0.52-1.02, P=0.06.>0.05).Conclusions:The Meta analysis showed:Compared with CCABG, OPCAB can reduce the incidence of atrial fibrillation,but similar incidence of MI after surgery.
