Abstract


With the development of economy in China, small and middle-sized enterprises (SMEs) become more and more important in pushing the national economy development. They play an important role in promoting economy structure, increasing employment opportunities and keeping social stability, and so on. Gaps between SMEs can reflect gaps between various regions to a large extent.The article tries to build a index system especially for SMEs in Gansu Province, make quantitative analysis between 14 cities in Gansu, find the problems in investment environment, and then give some advice in improving it.There are 6 parts in this article. Part one is introduction. This part introduces the background, study significance, research thinking and the research status of the article. Part 2 is the theory summary about SMEs and investment environment, including the definition and types of small and medium enterprises, the content, features and elements of investment environment, principles of building the index system to evaluate the investment environment of SMEs, the relationship between elements of investment environment and investment activities, and the methods of evaluating the investment environment. Part 3 describes the situation of SMEs in Gansu. Part 4 describes the situation of SMEs’ investment environment in Gansu. Part 5 makes a quantitative analysis on investment environment. In this part, the author uses factor analysis to analyze the situation of 14 cities in Gansu, finds the strength and weakness, and then gives some advice to improve it. Part 6 is the conclusion.
