Abstract

The supercavitating drag reduction technology can greatly reduce the resistance of underwater vehicle traveling , to break through the traditional speed barrier . The main mechanism of its drag reduction is the use of the isolated gas to the liquid surface , to reduce the wetted area of the object , thus substantially reducing the viscous resistance of the sailing . The effective prediction the supercavitation form a very important part , it has a direct impact on future research . Potential flow theory to solve the problem of fluid dynamics and achieved good results , slender body theory and boundary element method is the the supercavitating body design the application of modern methods of computation . This article is based on potential flow theory singularity panel method the supercavitation shape , its main contents are as follows : First, the line shape of supercavitation preliminary study , including : based on potential flow theory slender body theory vacuoles shape approximate analytical solution and were compared with a series of classic empirical formula . Experimental study of the projectiles , its purpose is to to understand supercavitation formation mechanism observed supercavitation generation process and true form and the main factors that affect supercavitation form , while the cavitation number and dimensionless vacuolar size curve ; purpose of these studies is the use of numerical methods for the back calculated supercavitation form to provide a reference . Second, the singularity panel method 's basic theory based on the velocity potential , the opposite element method theoretical analysis and research , including the establishment of control equation , the tail flow model , the definition of the boundary conditions , equations discrete solving the iterative process , as well as the kinetic parameters Solution. Then , model - specific mathematical modeling, equation discrete boundary conditions selected to iterate the final result . Wake model were selected pressure to restore the closed model and mirror plate model . The study found that use of the pressure recovery closure model to calculate the local vacuoles ideal model to calculate the mirror plate super vacuoles in good agreement with the empirical formula , that panel method in predicting vacuolar morphology and cavitation number is feasible and effective , its deal with the problem simple , effectiveness is of great significance for solving engineering problems . Finally, the need for theory and engineering of a series of research and development direction .
