Abstract


Objectives : Remifentanil is a short-acting drug that allows us to study the specific respiratory effects of potent opioid analgesics. The purpose of this study is to describe the effects of the preemptive of remifentanil , a new , short-acting , rapidly metabolized , selective opioidμ-receptor could reduce the probability of respiratory depression on the sequential continuous infusion .Methods : Seventy ASAⅠandⅡpatients were randomly allocated into two equal gropes . Exclusion criteria included a history of or clinical signs of respiratory disease, a documented history of allergy to opioids, or exposure to opioids within the previous 30 days. Patients were also excluded if intubation was expected to be difficult. group A : after the preemptive dosage of remifentanil 0.6μg/kg/min , 0.05μg/kg/min was continuous infusion . group B : receive 0.05μg/kg/min of remifentanil .Results: There are 10 patients occurrence respiratory depression in the group A compared with 21 patients in the group B .Conclusion : the preemptive dosage of remifentanil can reduce the probability of respiratory depression on the sequential continuous infusion .
