Abstract


Cognitive linguistics believes that the metaphors are the way people perceive our world and the powerful tool of cognitive. From the perspective of the cognitive metaphor study truly reveals the working mechanism and function of metaphor. In view of this, this paper attempted to angle of cognitive and according to the cognitive approach of Lakaff &Johnson’s experiential view, selects recently the People’s Daily and other newspaper headlines using the method of qualitative analysis in a conceptual metaphors framework. According to the theory of metaphor, metaphor, structure metaphor from the body and azimuth metaphor the three categories of the metaphorical expression corpus, is analyst. This paper tries to analyze the headlines with our cultural characteristics in part of the metaphor type. These can help people more in-depth, complete understanding life common metaphor. News headlines metaphors in social function analysis can be applied linguistics for psychology, provide some enlightenment.About news headlines of metaphor in many aspects can thorough research, lack of space and the ability is limited, the thesis has certain limitation for the future study provide some direction.
