Abstract

In this paper, the current situation, development, characteristic of phosphors, preparation and application prospect of phosphorescence system of silicate were summarized. Eu2+ actived silicate phosphor, made by cheap and abundant raw material SiO2, has more chemical and thermal stability, lower sintering temperature and better consistent to ceramics than Aluminate phosphor. It is doomed to have wide application in the near future. The paper have researched detailedly the system of Sr2MgSi2O7:Eu,Dy phosphor. The long afterglow luminescent materials of Sr2MgSi2O7 were firstly prepared by microwave irradiation method under the reductive atmosphere with absorbent charcoal. The oven used in the experiment is domestic microwave oven. The holder system made by previous researchers was modified, and it’s airproof and heat preservation performances were improved. The reaction time was notably shortened even without using the microwave absorber reagent, and the harm to oven by high temperature was avoided. With XRD、PL and brightness meter, the luminescent properties and the factors which impact them were studied, and the optimum condition of sintering was determined, and compared them with high temperature solid state method. The luminescent intensity of phosphor powder synthesized by this method is 3760mcd/m2 at 15s after being excited, and the decay time of the sample is 17h. A phosphor of Sr2MgSi2O7:Eu2+,Dy3+ was synthesized by sol-gel method at the temperature 1100℃. The phosphor synthesized by solid reaction exhibited a better afterglow character than the phosphor obtained by the sol-gel method, due to a higher trap concentration which was formed by a higher reaction temperature.
