Abstract


EPDM / PP thermoplastic elastomer has excellent weather resistance, ozone resistance, UV resistance, high temperature resistance, insulation, impact, process performance advantages abroad have been widely used in the automotive, electronic and electrical, construction, sports equipment, etc. fields. Domestic in these areas most of the use of polluting PVC material and EPDM / PP thermoplastic elastomer is obviously insufficient, so research EPDM / PP thermoplastic elastomer material to become a top priority. This article explores the EPDM / PP blends plasticating preparation process, and open mill, RM-200A torque rheometer, single-screw extruder, temperature control presses and other equipment, the preparation process, the use of has determined that the preparation process of the mechanical properties of the different rubber and plastic than TPV material. The heat-resistant properties of the TPV materials with the addition of the PP decreased. XRD shows that the presence of the rubber phase EPDM limits the activities of the PP molecular chains of the plastic phase, so that the degree of crystallinity of the PP phase reduces, when the PP content exceeds 50%, this limitation disappears, even increase the degree of crystallinity of the PP, reduce material performance. The SEM shows that the materials are phase separated, with the increase of PP plastic phase, the ratio of 50/50 to Rubber, PP phase rendered obvious lamellar structure, so the mechanical properties decrease.
