Abstract


Since the reform and opening up, China has made tremendous economic and social development, people’s living standards has been obviously promoted. Meanwhile,the urbanized advancement has speeded up unceasingly, the quantity of big small and medium-sized town and cities has increased unceasingly, and the infrastructure of city also has been consummated day by day. However, the level of city public civilization is still low. AS an important component of soft strength, city public civilization not only affects the city image, but also restricts the function of city infrastructure. Therefore, it is very important to promote the level of city public civilization.During the process of city public civilization construction, citizen participation has remarkable significance to the construction of city public civilization. On one hand, the purpose of city public civilization construction is to cultivate the citizen consciousness; on the other hand, citizen participation is useful to overcome some difficulties of the construction of city public civilization.This article has introduced the present situation of the city public civilization in our country. Meanwhile, I have combed the theories of city public civilization, and summarized the practice situation of other cities public civilization construction, analysis the necessity of citizen participation. On this basis, I have proposed some strategies to improve the level of city public civilization, the strategies including promoting the level of the sense and ability of participation, establishing the long-term mechanism of the construction of city public civilization.
