Abstract

The objective of this study was to investigate the disciplinarian of infection about the solution of surfactants to the VOCs of toluene in air-liquid interface’s transfer. And then deduced the formula of the relationship between the concentrations of surfactants’s solution, temperatures and the Henry’s constants. For the research of VOCs’s transfer and translate in the environment, and for the wipe of VOCs in the remediatior of soil and groundwater provide the theory and data sustain. We mostly studied single and mixed surfactants’s basic character; the solubilization of toluene; the relationship between the temperature or concentration of surfactants and Henry’s constants when toluene-surfactants system to equilibrium. In the surfactants we studied, we receive conclusions as follows:(1) For the influence of toluene gas-liquid equilibrium by the addition of surfactant, nonionic surfactants have the beter effect than ionic surfactants, and as nonionic surfactants the Tween system have beter effect than TritonX system for toluene solubilization. And in the type of anionic-nonionic, cationic-nonionic, cationic-cationic surfactants, which we have selected as mixed surfactans for toluene solubilization, the type of ionic-nonionic got the beter effect for toluene solubilization.(2) the relationship between the Henry’s constants and the concentrations of surfactant solutions are similar as the relationship between the mass of solubilization and the concentrations of surfactant solutions. It was observed that Henry’s law constants of toluene decreased with enhancing surfactant concentrations.the results indicated that the change in the surface tension of liquid might play an important role for the decrease of Henry’s law constants of toluene. When surfactant concentrations were above the CMC, for the micellars have been formed, Henry’s law constants of toluene were inclined evidently with surfactant concentrations. When the surfactant concentrations below CMC, Henry’s law constants of toluene were decreased with surfactant concentrations, but was smaller. But the cation surfactant CPC is a exception. When the cation surfactant CPC at a low concentration(below its CMC), its Henry’s law constants of toluene were increased with the surfactant concentrations, when reach its CMC, got the max Henry’s law constants of toluene. (3) Bases the departing theory of toluene in surfactants solutions, and the curve of solubilization of toluene also the curve that the Henry’s constants changes with the concentrations changed. We deduced the relationship between the Henry’s constants and the concentration of surfactants. The formular is Hc=H/[1+K(X-CMC)]. (4) Validate the equation of Vant’s Hoff (In Hc=A-B/T) in the relation of temperature and surfactant concentration.
