Abstract


Self-concept is an important human behavior factors , and parental rearing significantly affect the self-concept formation. Reveals the relationship between the two ways to show the important role of parenting . This paper attempts from a cultural perspective and using Hofstede's cultural dimensions theory to explain the problem. In the relevant literature and conducted a brief review of the concept , this paper illustrates the methodology and results of the study demonstrated the data . To study different aspects of child rearing practices and adult self-concept relations , 196 20-40 year old respondents completed the Tennessee Self Concept Scale and Parenting Scale Chinese version . Parenting and self-concept between the different aspects related very clear: using SPSS data analysis the results show parental rearing in the formation of emotional warmth is a positive factor in children's self-concept , and the penalties and refused to admit was negative factors ; Secondly , age, gender, child, and parental education and other factors are all forms of self-concept has a certain impact . The results show that autonomy and allow youngsters to learn the emotional atmosphere of warmth and acceptance is the best environment for the development of self-concept .
