Abstract

There are a lot of middle-high temperature waste heat in industrial production, especially in the metallurgical industry, which has great potential in energy saving. Thermoelectric generator technology is the use of thermoelectric conversion materials directly to the heat into electricity. Compare to the other energy conversion, it is cleaner, no noise, no pollution, no emissions of harmful substances, efficient, long life, solid, reliable, stable. In many special cases, conventional recovery mode is not realizable, but semiconductor thermoelectric can come ture. Therefore, it’s very important in middle-high temperature waste heat recovery in industry with thermoelectric generator technology.Based on the characteristics of high temperature waste heat, design a self-powered air cooling Thermoelectric Power Generation Module, primarily for middle-high temperature waste heat recovery, which came from the steel wall of the converter. And it is an initial exploration for thermoelectric generation technology, which used in industrial waste heat recovery. Thesis to complete the following basic tasks:1. Analyzed the domestic and overseas of research and application status on semiconductor thermoelectric field, especially focused on the classification and comparison on the structure of thermoelectric heating system, so determined the virtue and deficiency.2. According to the characteristics of converter, which can rotational and movement. Design a structure using forced air-cooled type. And each power module using an independent cooling system, which is simple for installation and maintenance, does not affect the destruction of the individual modules of the system work properly.3. Analysis and optimization design for thermoelectric generation module thermal system. Analysis the rules with temperature field, velocity field of the thermoelectric generation module by numerical simulation. The optimal solution is proposed for different forms of the radiator, fan-arranged, height and heat sink fan pressure. In addition, the thermal conductivity of the thermoelectric materials is different in different temperature situation, and the boundary conditions use air inlet pressure of the fan inlet conditions, which is more accurate numerical simulation. Establish a theoretical foundation of thermoelectric generator with using the form of forced convection cooling.4. Identified conductivity coefficient of the thermoelectric material, which is different in different temperature, through the experimental study of thermoelectric generation module. A greater advantage have been verified which about using the forced air convection cooling methods treat the thermoelectric generation module. In addition, measure the open circuit voltage of thermoelectric generation module in different fan-arranged situation. Verify the reliability of numerical simulation. At last, analysis characteristics of power output under the single-fan or dual-fan cooling. Sum up the relationship between the load resistance and output power, which is significant to the project practical application, obtains a series of useful conclusions, provides some practicable methods in middle-high temperature waste heat recovery using by semiconductor thermoelectric generator.
