The papers in the doped Yb 3 Knowledge of double-clad fiber and fiber laser mode locking theory foundation describes doped Yb 3 the double cladding mode-locked fiber laser experimental research results. The main contents include the following aspects: First , the introduction of the doped Yb 3 double-clad fiber laser development history and excellent features and applications . Then described the characteristics of a Yb-doped 3 < / sup> double- clad fiber , including Yb 3 level structure and spectral characteristics , the structure of the double-clad fiber , pumped as well as fiber nonlinear effects . Finally , mode-locked fiber laser cavity and clamping mechanism for clamping experiment statements. Second, the structures of the most simple fiber laser , and the output light pulse , the the doped Yb 3 double-clad fiber output characteristics to master ; conducting further experimental process , found the two relatively stable Q- phenomenon , called optical fiber itself saturable absorption effect of Q and stimulated Brillouin scattering tone Q analysis of the reasons for the formation of these two types of Q- , respectively . Finally, the use of SESAM and nonlinear polarization rotation structures picosecond mode-locked fiber laser , stable Q- locked pulse observed high the clamping sequence modulation contrast than the domestic public , continuous Clamping did not realize . Grating and then added in the optical path , but did not realize stable clamping control intracavity dispersion . Thus no stable mode-locking of the reasons were analyzed to illustrate the problems and solutions of the experiment . In short , on the basis of theoretical analysis , we conducted the the doped Yb 3 experimental study of the double-clad mode-locked fiber laser , the best result obtained so far is the Q-switched mode-locked . To really achieve picosecond and femtosecond mode-locked , and there are many problems to be solved .
