With the completion of large interconnected power grid, as well as the continuous commitment of large capacity and high parameters generating units, the grid began to highlight the issue of security and stability. The dynamic characteristics of turbo-generator unit speed governor system is one of the main factors that affects security and stability of power system. Therefore, it has important practical significance that the turbo-generator unit speed governor system dynamic model in line with the actual details of the power system operation is set up by the methods of parameter identification and simulation validation to improve the security and stability of power system analysis.This paper based on the typical turbo-generator unit speed governor system dynamic model which is recommended in Power System Analysis Software Package(PSASP), combined with scientific research“Model Parameter Identification and Simulation Research about Dynamic Response Characteristics of the Generating Units Speed Governor System in Hubei Power Grid”, select the dynamic model in accordance with the steam turbine speed governor system structure of the actual power plant, and qualitative analyze the model and its parameters. On this basis, the least squares type methods (the basic least squares method and instrumental variable method), genetic algorithm, neural network and particle swarm optimization is applied to the turbo-generator speed governor system dynamic model parameter identification, and focus on studying the neural network parameter identification method and particle swarm optimization methods of parameter identification. In addition, this article ,based on the methods of model parameter identification, using simulation tools, studied preliminary the qualitative and quantitative methods of model validation for parameter identification result.Finally, this paper developed a turbo-generator speed governor system parameter identification and simulation software which include the data pre-processing function, a variety of parameter identification methods and model simulation validation function. The software was applied to carrying out the turbo-generator speed governor system parameter identification and simulation validation in Dabieshan power plants. The simulation results show that the software has a broad applicability and can be used flexibility. the parameters of turbo-generator unit speed governor system dynamic model which meet the requirements of power system stability calculation can be gotten by using the software.
