East China Grid Company Limited is China’s largest regional power grid, regional area of 471,400 square kilometers. East China Grid Company Limited is in charge of "four provinces and one municipality": Shanghai City, Jiangsu Province, Zhejiang Province, Anhui Province and Fujian Province, managing power grid safety, planning development of regional power grid, developing regional electricity market, managing power dispatch center, and other important duties.With Shanghai as its center, including 15 prefectural level cities of Jiangsu’s Nanjing, Zhenjiang, Yangzhou, Taizhou, Nantong, Suzhou, Wuxi, Changzhou and Zhejiang Hangzhou, Jiaxing, Huzhou, Ningbo, Shaoxing, Zhoushan, Taizhou, Yangtze River Delta is one of the most developing and fast-growing region, and also the demand and load center of East China Power Grid. Nowadays, the region is described as the world’s sixth metropolitan zone, with urbanization rate of 47.4%.In recent years, the coordinated development of the Yangtze River Delta region, sustained and rapid economic development, industry gathering from scattered, has formed a new pattern of growth, speeding up to enter a new integrated developing stage. As the backbone of important energy enterprises in Yangtze River Delta serving regional economic and social development and optimizing power resources allocation, East China Grid Company Limited obtained not only new challenges, but opportunities from the integrated development of Yangtze River Delta.From the perspective of strategic management of enterprises, this thesis applying STEEP analysis, SWOT analysis, Porter’s Five Competitive Forces Model, analyzed the macroeconomic environment of Yangtze River Delta, internal and external business conditions and the competition situation of East China Grid Company Limited; compared with some domestic and foreign large-scale power grids and power enterprises benchmarking operating and financial indicators. Furthermore, the author identified the strategic goals and guidelines of East China Grid Company Limited under the regional integrated development of Yangtze River Delta, and specified implementation measures according to integrated development, mechanism innovation, improving service ability, human resources management, strengthening corporate social responsibility and corporate cultural development.
