Abstract

In recent years, along with social progress, rapid economic development and continuous improvement of people’s living standards, people’s health awareness has markedly enhanced, and also with the unprecedented rapid development of sports constructions. But compared to the large number of domestic population, the current number and function of sport architectures is far away from meeting domestic demand. According to the fifth national census sports venues data, China has 850,000 various sports venues meeting to the requirements, of which the standard sports facilities is 547,000. The majority of the buildings have irrational structure, inadequate facilities, or single function and operation modes. Most of them have not been used comprehensively and some even become the local governments’financial burdens. In order to solve this contradiction between resource mismanagement and shortage, careful study on resource utilization and intensive analysis of their functions provided are necessary. Therefore, defining the sports architecture project function and carrying through the cost and value analysis in order to realize the maximum benefit at the lowest cost becomes the current problems need to be solved urgently. In modern society, sports architecture is not only used in high standards competitions and training, but also the business and public facilities. So sports architecture project is a very wide extension study which includes a variety of disciplines with specialty and extension. This paper is just the functional and cost evaluation analysis of sports architecture project on the bases above.Domestic study on sports architecture before always focuses most on the design, the later usage and single venue operation. The study based on the function and cost is more than not. This paper attempts to study from new perspectives and ideas which could not only help enrich the basic theory in this aspect, but also provide some references on the sports architecture later on.This paper, using value engineering cost analysis as the main line, first put forward clearly a number of related basic concepts and then make a comprehensive and systematic research on value, function and cost of sports architecture from theoretical and practical angles. On the basis of the study above, it proposes some countermeasures on how to reduce the physical building life cycle costs under the premise of project quality and normal life. And with the example of Zibo City Stadium, it gives an all-round analysis and appraisal from function, cost and value aspects.The whole paper is divided into eight chapters.ChapterⅠis the introduction section. This chapter first puts forward the study issue, and then states briefly the research purpose, meaning, topics background, development status of sports architecture, and domestic and foreign research on value engineering theory recently. Last, it brings forward the research methods and basic ideas of this paper.ChapterⅡis the overview of value evaluation of sports project, in which we state the definition, characteristics, procedures of value engineering and also the methods of how to improve it. This chapter lays the theoretical research base of the full text.ChapterⅢis the value analysis of sports architecture project. In this part, we point out the concept of sports architecture project value and also the basic steps of how to evaluate it from the value engineering way.ChapterⅣis the functional analysis of sports architecture project. In this section, combined the method of value engineering functional analysis with characteristics of sports architecture, we first define the sports architecture project function and then put forward the functional evaluation methods, and finally analyze the sports architecture project construction in a systematical way.ChapterⅤis the cost analysis of sports architecture project. On the basis of life-cycle theory and the characteristics of sports architecture project, we analyze the cost constitutes and then set forth the way of achieving cost-effective control in using value engineering way.ChapterⅥis the value evaluation of sports architecture project. On the basis of functional and cost evaluation indicators, we propose the way of value evaluation index system and point out the approaches on how to improve it.ChapterⅦis a case study. Based on the function, cost and other relevant factors research on Zibo City Stadium, we conduct value assessment and also propose the improving methods.Chapter VIII is the conclusion and review on the entire paper. It sums up the research content and results. Finally it proposes the future research interest and direction.
