Abstract


Mechanical professional English is the English practitioners introduced in the field of mechanical field of expertise or industry information . As a special kind of discourse , it has its own unique wording mode . This the drafting mode is determined by language discourse function . Thematic Progression is an important way to achieve discourse function . Theme and Rheme Halliday's Systemic Functional Grammar small sentence level segmentation , and the Prague School scholars Frantisek Danes proposed rheme promote theoretical theoretical basis from Mechanical magazines Machinery , new technology introduced a random sample of 30 column articles as an object of study . The thesis attempts by the analysis of the 30 articles of Thematic Progression Mode , drawn the technical presentations machinery article Thematic Progression characteristics . The study found that in 30 articles in the same thematic progression and the simple linear model most frequently used , 355 times and 374 times , respectively , accounted for 59.1% .
