Abstract


This paper aims at the analysis of contemporary design of villa-type residential architecture in Kunming.With the improving of living standard, people request more in living surrounding and indoor and outdoor environment. In order to meeting the requirement, more and more villas which are regarded the ideal living places are developed. For the lack of the integrated standard and concept, many companies of real estate hold the flag of building villas and build villas of different levels. Moreover, with the continuous appearance and the application of new materials and new techniques, different styles of villas come out into the world. The comprehension and exploration of the essence and designing ways will play an enlightening role in the standardization and guidance of constructing villas in the market.In the essay, the author collects a lot of materials, and analyzes the definition of villas and classifies them. The author also summarizes the designing ways and strategies, basing on the systematical investigation and understanding of the construction of villas in Kunming. The villa-type residential architecture mentioned in the essay should be understood in a broad sense, which includes the surroundings, the scene and the building itself. The goal of the essay is to study the designing concepts and strategies of contemporary villa building in Kunming and strike the balance between inheriting and innovation, and put forward the trend of construction of villas in Kunming, hoping the architects and programmers and the companies of real estate can obtain beneficial experience from it and unite with each other to promote the development of the construction of villas in Kunming, even in China.The paper is organized by three parts and five chapters:The first part includes Chapter one and Chapter two. The first chapter elaborates the background and significance of this research, the theoretical study in China and abroad and the practice of the villas overseas, and the location of the villas styles and villas in Kunming. The Second chapter describes the classification of villas from different aspects, the development of the construction of contemporary villas in Kunming, and the main components of villa buildings.The second part includes chapter three and chapter four. In this part, the components of constituting villa buildings are analyzed in detail, including the design of the integral parts of villa, and the design of the villa alone. Chapter three mainly is on the formation of villas, the program and design of road system, grass system, the set of villa regiment. Chapter four deeply describes the concept of design of villas in Kunming by analyzing the integration of plane space, elevation and figure design, sectional design, and the ecological design of villa construction.The third part includes chapter five. Chapter five explores the trend of villas design in Kunming, that is, a diverse, characteristic, human, and ecological and high-technique design.
