Abstract

A lot of earthquake damage shows that both moderate and strong earthquakes produce serious damage or even collapse on structures, causing huge economic losses and personal injury. Large thermal power plant is an important lifeline which should be higher capacity against seism, so study the seismic performance of this type of structure have important theoretical and practical value. The main purpose of this issue is to study the design and capacity of the frame bent against seism according to the search of the actual project , and which can be the basis for the following design of frame structure. The main research work covers the following aspects:1.Establishing finite element model by finite element software ANSYS. The rationality of the model directly determine the accuracy and precision of the subsequent analysis;2.To better understand the seismic behavior of the structure, conduct seismic design, put forward three options of the section size.Through modal analysis, obtained the structure of the basic dynamic performance; and then to calculate the internal forces of three cross-section plan to carry out cross-section selection3.Considering the impact of foundation on the bottom pillar, we reduce the calculation length of the bottom pillar, recalculate the stress and the compare the analysis;4.Performing time-history analysis to check the deformation of the structure and study the plastic zone and finally determine the weak layers. In this paper, we make systematic and detailed analysis of frame structure . Analysis showed that for the type of frame structures, flexible internal force design is the control point of the design of beam and column .
