Abstract

Energy conservation becomes more and more important nowadays all over the world. The phase change materials (PCM) play important roles in solar energy system, energy saving buildings and heating or air conditioning systems that absorb or release latent heat during the phase change processes. The phase change materials can help to overcome the mismatch between energy demand and supply by latent heat storage and releasing when needed. Phase change construction materials can be produced with the method absorbing phase change materials using multi–pore materials. If the phase change construction materials are applied to the exterior–protected construction, it can control the fluctuation of the room temperature in order to get the comfort temperature of people. Thus the heating and cooling energy consuptions of the building would be lowered to achieve the purpose of energy saving. In this paper, a binary multiple phase change material was produced firstly. Then the multiple phase change material was absorbed into the super–light ceramsite. In the last, phase change and energy storage concrete was trying to be produced using the super–light ceramsite that absorbed phase change material as coarse aggregate. The research results can be concluded as follows:①A binary eutectic systerm with the lowest melt point can be earned when complexing Decanoic acid (DA) with Lauric acid (LA) using different proportions. The lowest melt point is 19.8℃when DAˊs dosage is 70%. The binary multiple phase change materials which phase change temperature is 20℃~25℃and latent heat is 93J/g~102J/g can be produced when DAˊs dosage is 40%~60%. A theoretical calculation was done on the lowest melt point and the latent heat of the binary eutectic systerm. The result is more anastomosis with the test data.②The phase change temperature and latent heat of the binary multiple phase change material in which DAˊs dosage is 40% varied a little after 50、100、200 and 400 transition cycles. It proved that the multiple phase change material has good heat stabilization.③The porous super–light ceramsite can be used as the storage of the phase change materials. The adsorption of the phase change materials is 48% in vacuum condition more than natural condition in which the adsorption is 13.6%. In the same condition, the number of internal pore and the aperture size and the pore connectivity of the porous storage decide the adsorption of phase change material.④The binary eutectic phase change material has a good compatibility with the super–light ceramsite. The phase change temperature and latent heat of the phase change material in which DAˊs dosage is 40% have a little increase when it was absorbed into the super–light ceramsite.⑤Paraffin, emulsified asphalt and epoxy resin can be use as the surface encapsulated materials to prevent the leakage of the phase change material from super–light ceramsite but the cement paste can’t. Energy storage concrete can be produced using the encapsulated super–light ceramsite as the coarse aggregate. The compressive strength of the energy storage concrete is lower than the standard concrete. It is showed that epoxy resin has an obvious good encapsulation result than paraffin and emulsified asphalt from the comparison on compressive strength of the energy storage concrete.⑥Improving the early strength of the gel can avoid the early damage of the phase change stress, if the energy storage ceramsite is not encapsulated. Transition cycles have a little effect on the concrete in which the super–light ceramsite was encapsulated with epoxy resin, but have obvious effect on the concrete in which the super–light ceramsite was not encapsulated.
