Abstract


Economic globalization has been becoming an irresistible trend, and also a good way to achieve business growth and success. More and more enterprises build and seek a competitive advantage through opening new offices, manufacturing center, sales representative across the world. At the same time, the trend of enterprises seeking for new product development cooperation is increasing, which are under international cooperation and win-win development strategic. Through this way, the company gets the benefits from its own competitive advantages, but the total investment cost and risk is getting less. The new product research and development, which is the source of the profits in enterprises and the fundament of development, also becomes more and more important on international cooperation.This article focuses on project management that across a number of countries on new product R & D. As a case to this topic, ABC Inc. is an example. Its new product development is usually proceeded by a joint team between 3 or more countries. Firstly, this article briefly introduces the current status and application of project management and new products development in the world. In the second chapter, make an analysis to ABC’s actual situation of new product research and development and project management, and presents a number of application cases which adopted by some similar transnational corporation. Based on above situation and case analysis, Chapter III brings up the improving solutions to ABC’s new product development processes and project management. Lastly, give out the ideas and views on how to establish a highly efficient international project team, that from the project manager, cross-cultural management, communication management, time management aspects and so on.This article will be a reference for new product R & D project management. And do good in enriching the knowledge and skill of project management methods.
