Effects of Different Fattening Period on Abatage and Meat Quality of Simmental Crossbreed Cattle

Abstract


In beef cattle production at home and abroad generally beef cattle by hybridization to cultivate new varieties or improve production performance . Simmental cattle originating in western Switzerland , China introduced since the last century, Simmental, with its improved local cattle , and achieved the desired results . Recent years, with the continuous improvement of people's living standards , the level of beef meat in beef cattle improvement process step by step by the attention of researchers . This study concentrated on about 14 months old , 84 Xiza improved cattle fattening feeding trials fattening period were 120d , 180d and 240d, average daily gain and feed forage consumption statistics calculated comparing measured growth rate . The results show that , when the 14 -month-old Simmental the improved cattle concentrate fattening after the fattening 180d , with the prolongation of fattening time , the average daily gain and feed efficiency showed a downward trend . Fattening cattle slaughter test measured the performance of its meat production , fattening meat production performance , and analysis of the correlation of fattening and meat quality traits . The test showed that the 120d and 180d slaughter fattening index difference was not significant , but to continue fattening to fattening the 240d , fat deposition increased significantly , especially kidney fat and rib fat increase significantly , feed energy waste . Analysis of the various meat quality traits of beef , fattening 180d , the loin of 90.62% of the S-Class , the average yield per weight of 2.36kg ; 96.88% of the outer ridge of the Class B , the average weight of 6.14kg, beef tenderness , and more indicators of juice and flavor better .
