Abstract

The flying wing UAV, which brings us many merits such as high aerodynamic efficiency, low resistance and far voyage, will be the direction of aircraft design in the future. But because of its unconventional layout, flying wing has several demerits at the same time, such that the lateral stability is not so good compared with ordinary planes and it is easily disturbed by the crosswind, especially in the landing phase, which always causes the plane difficult to control. In order to overcome those problems, certain control method is used in this paper, on the basis of analyze on flying wing modeling.Firstly, in this paper, the software of DATCOM is used to estimate example UAV aerodynamic derivatives and coefficient, then the mathematical model of its typical state is built. By comparing flying-wing aircraft with conventional aircraft’s corresponding data and curves, the paper analyses flying-wing UAV’s unique stability and control character, in order to design Auto-Land control system later.Secondly, this paper makes a detailed analysis and description on the process of landing of aircraft, and also explicitly put forward control tasks and control strategies in various stages. Then using certain aircraft for example, robust control method is used in the design of the vertical and lateral stability augmentation control law to improve the robustness and the performance of the UAV. Based on aircraft stability augmentation control system, according to the level from the inner to the outer, vertical and lateral landing attitude and trajectory control is designed, which through simulation experiments shows the effectiveness of the design. Finally, the conclusions and the prospects to the whole article have been done.
