Abstract


As many linguists mentioned, pragmatics and sociolinguistics research have much in common , but also for social linguistics pragmatics some research has made tremendous contributions , especially in the social instructions , speech act theory and its utilization . Research in the field of sociolinguistics , the relationship between gender and language has long been a hot topic . Scholars widely believe that men and women in the use of language there is an obvious gender differences . Stereotypes of women in the society sets see , women should not be determined to express their views, because their identity will be reflected in the language used in them . On the other hand , in the pragmatics of research in the field , speech act theory scholars concerned about most topics . So far, a lot of literature on this are explored and perfected. Among them, Austin and Searle's contribution is most prominent. Generally felt that , in determining the specific implementation of a strategy to use speech act , the powers of influence is much greater than the gap between the impact of gender differences . Then, when the male and female speaker equal status , women speakers will still be taken with the male speakers of different languages ??policies do ? In this paper, the use of languages ??of gender differences as a starting point , was presented with the common view different assumptions : Even men and women speak there is no gap between the authority , under the influence of gender , male and female speakers will still take a different language policies. To test this hypothesis , this article from a U.S. reality TV series \Analysis focused on two types of speech acts , ie acts and elaborate instruction behavior . The results show that the speaker even though women enjoy equal social status with men , they also tend to use different strategies male speaker . This is confirmed , in the specific context, the decision to implement specific strategies of speech acts , the speaker will also apply gender impact . On this issue , can not be summarily authority on what is gender gap is still playing a decisive role in the conclusion .
