Abstract


The development of multifunctional data acquisition card based on CPCI bus includes hardware and software technology. This paper focuses on the methodology and implementation of driver development for data acquisition card.In this paper, the features of PCI, CPCI bus are analyzed in details, the whole structure of multi-functional data acquisition card, which is based on the CPCI, is introduced, the structure and configuration information of PCI bridge chip PLX9030 used in the hardware design are studied. The kernel mode of Windows2000/XP and the implementation of the PCI plug-and-play system are discussed. Based on the understanding of the hardware and WDM technology, a plan of design and development for the data acquisition is put forward in this paper. The three functional models of the driver for the data acquisition card, A/D, serial port and switch control, are designed. The users’application programs are designed, by which the communication between application and driver is implemented. The supervision of devices by application programs is achieved and the task of the data acquisition and serial communication is completed. The research of the hot swap criterion is further deepened in this paper and then a method to implement the driver for the hot swap function in the WindowsXP is proposed. A powerful support for the development and application of the hot swap technology is provided.
