Image collection is widely used in the region of digital image processing and image identification. In this thesis, an embedded video acquisition card based on the main-subordinate processor architecture of DSP and FPGA is designed, it is characterized in low cost, low power and high real-time performance.At first, characteristics of embedded acquisition system, advantages of DSP and FPGA in image processing are analyzed, and the concrete hardware scheme is given. The system utilizes TMS320VC5509A as its central processor, which initializes the video acquisition chip SAA7111A with DSP own I2C bus, extends and manages external memory by EMIF interface, configures DMA and USB modules, and designs the bootloader program with external FLASH. EP1C6Q240C8 is used as co-processor, in the FPGA, video frame buffer module, ping-pang structure module and DSP communication module are designed to realize the video data cache, the double SRAMS alternative storage, and ensure that the integrity of video frame can be transferred to DSP. Finally, CCS2.0 integrated development environment and common video processing algorithms are introduced, and transplantation method of video processing algorithm based on this platform is described.The embedded video acquisition card is realized in this topic, and can achieve a real-time video capture and transmission. It is small and easy to upgrade, has a wide range of applications in the places related to public safety, such as bank, airport and station.
