With the rapid increase of Internet link rate , efficient network packet capture system began to be widely used . In order to improve the the packets capture efficiency , reducing the burden of the server processing , efficient network packet capture system often using zero-copy (Zero-Copy) mechanism to communicate with the network . Main features zero-copy buffer the management modules zbm is to achieve zero-copy work , maintain the normal operation of the data interworking between the application and the network card driver , and is responsible for data reception and buffer the release of two operations to achieve . The main work and innovation , including : (1) a detailed analysis based on zero-copy packet capture the entire process , and its core mechanism : zero-copy mechanisms and multi-threaded protocol analysis mechanism . ( 2 ) the establishment of a performance analysis model based on the zero-copy packet capture process , and the concept of zero-copy receive pause . Based on this, quantitative analysis of the impact of packet capture performance parameters . ( 3) to achieve zero-copy packet capture system . Test results show that the design and function of the system is correct and efficient . ( 4 ) for receiving livelock (receive livelock) , angle of departure from the packet capture system design , and propose a way to alleviate the problem of receive livelock . (5) a packet capture mechanism based on the multi-process mechanism . Through this mechanism can greatly improve the adaptability of packet capture system for a multi-tasking environment . In summary , a series of studies , research results have important guiding significance for the design of high-speed network environment packet capture system designed for packet capture system based on zero-copy mechanisms .
