Abstract


With the rapid development of computer hardware, network and system structure, the virtualization technology has already penetrated into some fields, and has shown a new tendency, and has become a new hotspot from server virtualization to memory virtualization, also in the application virtualization.At the same time, virtualization technology in the management, security and reliability has also brought new challenges. At present, most virtualization software are only used in single node as the management software of virtualization resource, and lack of support in the management of trans-physical nodes, and unable to manage concentrated resources and unified distribution, and unable to provide reliable communication techniques to integrate the dispersed virtualization resources in physical nodes. To the user, the visualization of management tool is needed, which supports to manage the virtualization resources of complicated and different domain.In regard with those problems, this paper designs a model to manage resources, and analyzes the main techniques in SMPS-VMM based the model.In the resource scheduling module, this paper designs a dynamic algorithm to allocate task. Considering the impact of CPU, memory, disc I/O, and the cost of dealing task, this algorithm allocates task dynamically to ensure that the cost of allocating task is minimal.In dynamic resource management module, this paper provides a dynamic hotplug technique of resource. Hotplug was used in system maintenance originally, but in software field in this paper, which extends the application and implements fine grain of virtual machine of hotplug.Considering the actual application of system, this paper designs a simple system communication protocol, which codes by XML and transports by HTTP, and implements double encryption for communication data to ensure security of transports. The double encryption is original data encryption and transport channel encryption, which ensure the communication reliability of SMPS-VMM system essentially.This study is supported-by 863 plan, "based on the virtual machine technology commercial high-end blade server system". Based on Xen hypervisor, designed and implemented spanning physical server virtual machine monitor, which is called SMPS-VMM. This system has high usability, high security and usability, and has implemented integrations of Xen in different domain, and has provided the unified resources view, and can manage the Xen hosts at the lightweight way, and has achieved design goal.Finally, this paper gives a comparatively performance evaluation of guest OS on SMPS-VMM and ESX Server, and analyzes the result of evaluation. The result indicates that SMPS-VMM performs excellently.
