Abstract


P2P networks using peer-to-peer technology , such that each node in the network can be directly shared, retrieve and access a variety of resources , to provide users with a convenient platform for the exchange . With the popularity of P2P system , its users are also increasing. Instant Messaging (IM-Instant Messaging) as a special kind of P2P network , has become one of the most popular online communication tools , individual users to use it easily for daily communication . However , P2P networks and IM communications growing epidemic and improve the function of attracting more and more attacks , especially worms manufacturer attention . P2P network node neighbors saved information and instant messaging contact list to become a quick way to find potential targets , so that the worm propagation can be quite alarming rate . This paper focuses on the study of the propagation characteristics of P2P worms and instant messaging worms and detection technology , the paper work include: 1 ) depth study of network worm propagation model and detection methods . This article from network worm propagation model , analyzes the relationship between the scan rate worm infections affect worm propagation speed ability . Propagation velocity and the degree of security threats on the basis of analysis of P2P worms and IM worms its depth . IM worm countermeasures exist , description and analysis of the worm detection method against P2P worms . 2 ) normal network behavior from P2P networks , combined with the the P2P worm neighbors spread characteristics , analysis of the associated information between different network behavior , proposed P2P worm detection method based on information associated with . 3 ) IM worm successfully infected a host will be sent to all the contacts of the host user messages. Combined both IM worms and user behavioral characteristics on the basis of this paper, an IM worm detection method based on behavior analysis and discussion of the implementation of the improved method . 4) under the in PERL NWS environments , were established P2P and IM network simulation environment , and worm detection algorithm to achieve . Simulation results show the effectiveness of the algorithm , and draw many useful conclusions .
