Abstract


With the growing popularity of information technology and computer technology , how to be more convenient , fast and accurate useful text information is entered into the computer , has become a key issue in the modern information processing , optical character recognition technology has become the text the best choice of automatic identification input , often as an image scanner scan tool . In this paper, on the basis of in-depth study of embedded technology , design a portable text scanning identification system . The system replaces traditional scanner can achieve real-time video capture text image , and after a series of video processing , reconstruction of an image of text , and then use the modern mature optical character recognition technology , achieve automatic recognition input text . The main work is as follows : First, select the ARM processor for image processing , design a portable video image acquisition system , hardware highlight the small size , portable as well as support for video processing features prominent characteristics of real-time software to complete real-time Linux CMOS image sensor and USB access device driver platform design . Second, on the basis of the sequence of video images frame by frame binarized , stroke - based encoded video frame compression method , to achieve the effective transmission of the video image ; dynamic splicing method based on the video lens and motion estimation of video frames at the same time , the reconstructed static text, images , and laid a good foundation for character recognition . Third , design the application software on the PC , USB drive design , the OCR module call , and application design . In short , this article uses a portable system to realize automatic recognition of the text input, the recognition speed and recognition rate is satisfactory , the overall performance is good .
