Abstract


With the advances in computer graphics, 3D modeling and 3D scanning technology , the digitization of three-dimensional graphics data in large numbers , especially the details of the three-dimensional model has been widely used in the design , manufacturing, entertainment and military . These models are usually expressed with complex polyhedron grid , how to reuse and manage existing grid model , how to modify an existing grid model based on a new design objective , three-dimensional model of the mesh segmentation has become an international frontier research issue. The first three-dimensional model of segmentation of the current domestic and international research progress and its applications in all aspects of a review, and expand the research work around the three-dimensional model of the split . The main contribution of this paper is as follows : ( 1 ) draw on visual perception psychology research grid significantly , proposed a \Through the mesh , the algorithm first significant resistance calculated to find the mesh vertices , then this vertex for boundary -based detection . The psychology of visual perception that the type of recurring , despite the possibility of negative curvature line minimum , but in visual monotonous , not caused by the human visual interest . So this article compared to the previous segmentation papers biggest difference is not a minimum negative curvature line are as defined for the elements of the boundary line , but the grid significantly larger vertex connection is defined as the boundary lines . On this basis , a fast watershed segmentation algorithm . ( 2) the the shortcut rules under the guidance of a 3D grid segmentation algorithm . The algorithm extends the rules of decomposition of two-dimensional graphics outline shortcuts to expand into the field of 3D mesh segmentation . During the execution of the segmentation algorithm , the first sort of scanning is always perpendicular to the cutting surface of the partial skeleton segment model skeleton branch , by measuring the topological and geometrical properties of the cutting face to determine the using split key point identifies a substantially split position , and then use a substantially split near the position of the recessed portion of the model surface characteristics to define specific reasonable boundary between the sub-block , thereby obtaining meaningful segmentation results of the robustness .
