With the development and advancement of technology , the embedded system has become one of the most popular concept . In the rapid development of embedded systems , a wide range of applications and needs of the embedded system development is no longer limited only by the applications of high-level experts to complete . It is due to a variety of excellent integration Ji development environment IDE (Integration Develop Environment) , the emergence of a powerful tool for the majority of embedded Ji developers , embedded system development becomes relatively simple . From the application point of view , the IDE is a wide range of , compiler performance difference is obvious the status quo , based compiler for ARM excellent technology and file format conversion to achieve multi- compiler cross-platform work . The main work of this paper include the following points : 1 , the general method of embedded software development , and analysis of the advantages of using the IDE to develop embedded software , and currently widely used in a variety of IDE . 2 , in-depth analysis of the works of the compiler , and focus on a variety of compiler optimization strategies , and five kinds based on the ARM compiler , the compiler generates code for the performance of two important indicators . 3 , based on the ARM920T design a set of software and hardware testing method , five kinds of embedded compiler to generate code for a comprehensive test selected for the application background , through the analysis of comparative test results , the optimal compiler . IDE environment to compile , link the output of three file formats studied , the the optimal compiler generates code cross-platform applications using C language programming . Based on the practical application of optimal selection and cross- platform compiler technology , the study is relatively small , this paper conducted a preliminary exploration in this area , needs to be further studied .
