With the continuous development of the network , the increase in the complexity and heterogeneity of network management is becoming increasingly important . Currently, SNMP (Simple Network management Protocol, SNMP ) is widely used in network management , but it does not support the communication between the network management system , and is not suitable for distributed management based on XML (eXtemsible Markup Language, extensible markup language ) network management system using XML technology , self - defined complex network structure of management information and network transmission , more importantly, is that XML can achieve the exchange of information across platforms and systems , has a strong versatility , is very much people attention. built based on TMN standard UEMC ( the Unitive equipment management Center unified Device management Center ) system Datang Telecom in order to service a variety of products in the company 's existing network management system , to achieve a centralized maintenance of the company 's products , centralized meter fee concentrate measurement function . article describes the advantages of XML technology and its application in network management , and a brief description of the basic concepts of the TMN and UEMC system architecture , management functions ; based on XML technology in among of UEMC design . XML-based UEMC system design using the hierarchical network structure , that is distributed and centralized management , the formation of a network segment distributed network management equipment , and then by a central network management on these distributed network management architecture management , to solve the SNMP-based network management system is only applicable to the shortcomings of the management of small and medium-sized networks . Finally, XML-based content -based the XML- UEMC architecture and functional design ; UEMC details implementation overview .
