Abstract


Multi-threaded (MT) processor technology is the one of the focus of the current microprocessor architecture , single-chip multi-processor (CMP) is also widely used in the commercial processors . With the development of hardware technology on a single chip , not only can integrate multiple processor cores , and each processor core can be multi - thread structure . Multi-core , multi-threaded processors will become the future processor a hot research and development direction . Developing a simulator study of the processor architecture will provide important support to support multi-core multi-threaded processor . In-depth analysis of the simultaneous multi-threaded architecture , including pipelining , branch prediction , memory hierarchy, and register file section . Proposed a simple multi-core simultaneous multithreading architecture MSMT control of both the current mainstream simulator design - execution -driven simulation , and timing priority on the basis of the implementation of the method of driving design method . Based the GEMS architecture simulator of the University of Wisconsin , the of the MSMT structure simulator design , simultaneous multithreading pipeline register file structure , while taking advantage of the C language, object-oriented technology to achieve the simulation of multi-core multi-threaded . Preliminary experiments showed that we design a simulator to simulate the correct behavior , performance statistics can provide a quantitative basis for the architecture studies to support the simulation of system-wide , and has a good user interface and flexible software architecture .
