Abstract


With the rapid development of the communication technology and the internet technology and the bandwidth access technology, the market of IP services and date services and video services and multi-media services is growing quikely . Thus the transmission of the date services, the internet services , the proportion of all kinds of date services are being bigger and bigger in correspondence networks. The transmission network is becoming a duplex-character network with basic functions and services fuctions. Except for traditional services, the resources of the transmmition networks can be used for all kinds of users. This change accelerates the metropolitan transport network construction.The paper makes an example of the metropolitan transport network construction of Dandong UNICOM. The application of the Multi-Service Transport Platform (MSTP) technology for the metropolitan transport network of Dandong UNICOM is studied.Considering the exiting SDH network based on the advanced and mature technology, the MSTP technology is chosen to construct the metropolitan transport network of Dandong UNICOM.The concept of MSTP is introduced, as well as its frame of technology. The MSTP principle and technology target are analyzed from the support form of MSTP carried with different kinds of services.All sorts of service requirements for the metropolitan transport network of Dandong UNICOM are analyzed. The services developing and the current network characters are considered. The scheme of the metropolitan transport network of Dandong UNICOM construction is established. The scheme of the construction is carried out step by step. The MSTP equipments installment, the existing SDH ones updated, and the new functions test of the MSTP equipments are all studied.The applications of the MSTP technology for Dandong UNICOM is presented with the Ethernet private interlink service, the share of Ethernet bandwidth based on VLAN, the ATM services, the fusion of Optix and pdh, and the applications of the intelligent metropolitan transport network in Dandong UNICOM.
