On the basis of elaborating the background of modulation and value engineering research, taking the module as the design concept taking the value engineering as the analysis method, taking prop design of clothing exclusive agency as studying object, the dissertation thoroughly discusses how to carry out the modular prop design.Firt,the dissertation carries the investigation on the history and the present situation of modular design and value engineering.Afterward, this research emphasizs the necessity of utilizing modular design and value engineering analysis. It generalizes the merit of application modulation design, including reducing the design cycle, assuring the product quality, being advantageous for the transportation, being easy to service, satisfing the personalized demand. It also points out if utilize value engineering in the design stage, that will be more effective to save cost.Then, in order to enhance prop value, the reaserch points out the function and the cost relations. Basing on the theory,the reaserch makes deeply analysis on the prop modular design method, proposing the thought method of the prop modular design, the module structure level, the way of module combination. The goal is to let the prop designer comprehensively understand the integrity and assurance module unit design,when they designs the unit module.Finally, the dissertation discuss the prop’s innovation from the unit and the integrated. Not only pays attention to prop function innovation, but also pays attention to esthetics factor which is often neglected, when value is analysised. It also pointed out how to use the value engineering to enhances the modular value.
