Abstract


Several years ago, we had little knowledge about e-business. But now, e-business has advanced at such a rapid speed that corporation and person are all fiercely impacted by it.In 1998, the transaction amount in the world e-business market was nearly 7 billion dollars, which was twenty times more than that in 1997. At the end of 1999, it had increased to 68 billion dollars. It was estimated by WTO that the global e-business transaction would amount to 300 billion dollars. In our country, there are 8900 thousands people who have enrolled in Internet network and this digit is increasing rapidly. At the same time many corporation, no matter big or small, are all endeavoring to carry out their own e-business scheme. From above data we can see that to remain competitive in today’s fast-moving markets, we must promote e-business as soon as possible.This article try to discuss about the concept and its main modes, to reveal the problems existing in e-business, to analyze the change and opportunities of Banking brought by this trend.In the first chapter I list the error understandings about the e-business. <WP=8>Through writing several quoting from the sayings by the authorities, I try to give a primary concept of e-business, to indicate that the goal of e-business is to increase the efficiency and reduce the cost. Meanwhile I give two examples to introduce the two main mode of e-business: B-C, B-B.In the second chapter, through analyzing the background and three levels of e-business, it is indicated that we must do our best to go ahead to the high level to reduce the gap between our country and foreign countries. On the other hand, there are many problems in the practice of e-business, such as transaction safety, law, tax, personal security and so on. Government must take some methods in eliminating these obstacles of e-business. In the third chapter, I demonstrate the role of e-business to economy and livings. Firstly, it greatly changes the thinking mode. Secondly, it has a lot of influence in the economy activities, etc, market, corporation, price system. Thirdly, it gives an impact on the mode of working and living of public.In the forth chapter, I give an emphasis on the e-business’s influence in the banking system. E-business has a great impact on the banking <WP=9>system. It brings a question to us, which is how the banks in our country adapt to the e-business trend.At the end of the article, two examples are listed to illustrate the mode of e-business applied in banking system, one of which is ALL-IN-ONE-NET, an e-business product of CMB, another is HEXAGON, the global electronic Banking designed by The Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited.
