Objective: To understand the incidence and distribution of soldiers smoking behavior characteristics , understanding of Central South soldiers know the extent of tobacco-related knowledge and related attitude on soldiers smoking behavior main factors for the development of tobacco control measures against the warrior groups provide a reference . Methods : in the field armies of China and South Africa , the 1000 soldiers randomly selected as the study sample . General questionnaire using self understanding of the general social survey sample demographic characteristics , the application adaptation smoking behavior questionnaire , T test , analysis of variance , non- conditional logistic regression analysis to understand the behavior of the soldiers being investigated smoking , quit smoking the occurrence of the behavior , as well as tobacco - related knowledge , attitudes, and smoking behavior around occurred condition . Results: In the 1000 survey sample to get 982 valid questionnaires , the effective response rate was 98.20% ( 982 / 1000 ) . In 982 effective fighters samples , the soldiers tried smoking behavior overall occurrence rate of 62.0% ( 609 / 982 ) , which occasionally smoking incidence was 33.8% ( 332/ 982) , daily smoking (lasting more than a week ) rate of 28.2% ( 277 / 982 ) ; 609 soldiers answering the questionnaire of smoking reasons , the incidence of tobacco dependence , 48.60% ( 296/ 609) . Level , the working life of the soldiers try to risk factors of smoking behavior , that is, the higher the level , the longer working life soldiers are more likely to try smoking ; degree of knowledge about smoking attitude soldiers try to protective factors of smoking behavior , smoking-related knowledge more understanding of soldiers opposed to smoking are less likely to try smoking . Conclusion : soldiers smoking incidence of 62.0% , higher than the general level . The soldiers know the extent of the knowledge of smoking is generally low , and only a small part of the soldiers opposed to smoking itself or others . Level , years of work in the forces , the degree of knowledge about effects of smoking , smoking attitude will affect the soldiers try smoking behavior . Should strengthen health education and promotion of tobacco control , strengthen Warrior psychosocial studies , attention to the mandatory legislation to introduce the health hazards of smoking , the social harm of tobacco , to strengthen the supervision of the public places , such as measures to reduce the soldiers tried smoking incidence , in order to improve the physical and mental health of the soldiers .
