Abstract


This paper focuses on the relationship of language and culture as well as the necessity of cultural awareness in foreign language learning . Foreign language teaching in China in the 1980s , before it comes to cultural teaching . The late eighties , and in the Xu Guozhang old-timers , Professor Hu Wenzhong other promotion , cultural awareness in the importance of foreign language teaching in the foreign language teachers and language learners begun to attract enough attention. In this paper , we discuss all the differences between Chinese and Western cultures , and traces its origins . The difference between Chinese and Western cultures first performance in Western culture of individualism and collectivism of the Oriental culture . Second , Western culture to the object -oriented of extraversion commercial culture , the Chinese culture is people-oriented introversion farming culture . East / Chinese and Western cultures all the difference in foreign language teaching is the subject of this thesis . The role of cultural factors in foreign language learning can not be ignored. WTO member countries in the 21st century , China will soon become one of the timing of the grasp of Foreign Languages ??, the understanding of the national culture has become more essential . Unity between the communication between people and understanding between the State and the country , nation and nationalism is as a teacher can not shirk its responsibility . I hope this thesis can give the interested peers as well as foreign language learning enthusiasts a little help and inspiration .
