Abstract

In computer graphics , simulation of water waves animation is a meaningful and challenging issue . To get realistic animation of water waves , the critical work is to simulate the movement patterns of waves . This paper to achieve a a wave statistical model based on empirical observations , and hardware support for real-time rendering technology to draw realistic water waves animation . Reference to Jerry in the text [ 1 ] the waves proposed model , to borrow Matlab software has powerful numerical analysis functions using the fast Fourier transform method , prior to actual observations of wave height field data movement subsequently OpenGL technology height field rendering of each frame to the real-time scene . In order to achieve real-time requirements , first of all , in the drawing process , we take full advantage of the extended functionality provided by the hardware , these features include: ambient textures , multiple textures , normal texture , graphics register programming vertex shader , pixel shader technology . Cube textures to simulate the effect of the surface polish of reflection and refraction ; draw multiple textures in different depths of the underwater formation of shadows and caustics surfaces ( Caustic ) ; mip-map, normal texture details such control technology to overcome the the scene mesh large number brought difficulties. Chapter 1 Overview predecessors of this paper in the methods and results of research on the fluid dynamics proposed solution ; calculated second chapter introduces the concepts and terminology of the fluid dynamics and the waves , and to discuss the wave theory on computational fluid dynamics ; the third chapter analyzes the wave model we used to explain in detail the implementation of the algorithm ; fourth chapter outlines the hardware support for real-time photorealistic rendering techniques ; Chapter utilization of technology to achieve real-time rendering waves and environmental effects ; sixth the chapter program details ; Chapter VII summarizes the full text of the work , and put forward the future focus and direction .
