Abstract

The purpose of the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region to carry out a large-scale baseline survey, the blood pressure levels of the region of residents over the age of 18, the epidemiological distribution of high-normal blood pressure and hypertension and related factors, provide for the determination of the high-risk groups and monitoring crowd scientific basis, the development of normal blood pressure and hypertension control strategies suitable for the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region. Multi-stage stratified random sampling method is divided into four levels randomly selected subjects: the first level, the elected representative of the counties (cities, districts) Guyuan, Zhongwei Ningxia population, socio-economic development level and geographic location, Wuzhong, Shizuishan, Yinchuan; second level, a township (town) from randomly selected area and urban area; third level, respectively, randomly selected from each township (town) and urban area villages and a neighborhood; fourth level, at the head of the household roster systematic sampling from each villages or neighborhood committees, the family is extracted resident population over the age of 18 are surveyed. Drawn residents questionnaire, physical examination. In this study, a multi-stage stratified random sampling, sample clumps structure, each sampling stage sampling units were drawn probability and therefore the data were analyzed using weighted statistic. Systolic or diastolic blood pressure between different groups average compared using analysis of variance or t-test. The standardized prevalence population data in the 5th census of the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region in 2000, high normal blood pressure or hypertension prevalence among different groups chi-square test was used to compare the prevalence trend analysis using the chi square test for trend, high-normal blood pressure and hypertension risk factors were analyzed using univariate and multivariate logistic regression analysis. Results Ningxia residents systolic blood pressure (SBP) average 119.6mmHg average diastolic blood pressure (DBP) 76.4mmHg. Male SBP and DBP average levels than women. Male and female SBP and DBP average increased with age, waist circumference, body mass index growth. 2 Ningxia residents hypertension standardized rate was 13.1%, of which male and female were 13.3% and 12.9% in men than in women (P lt; 0.001), increasing age, male, female prevalence of hypertension tends to be higher. Isolated systolic hypertension standardized rate was 1.81%, where men and women were 1.55%, 2.05% higher in women than in men (P lt; 0.05) Ningxia residents normal value high blood pressure standard rate was 40.3%, the male and female were 47.1% and 34.5% in men than in women (P lt; 0.001). At 35 years of age and over age group, the prevalence of high-normal blood pressure increase with age, showing a decreasing trend. 4 Multinomial Logistic regression analysis showed that high salt intake, smoking, overweight and obesity are common risk factors for high-normal blood pressure and hypertension, sedentary activities for a long time, weekly intake of red meat more often, drinking, high family history of blood pressure is a risk factor for hypertension; common protective factors Hui high-normal blood pressure and hypertension. Coronary heart disease, diabetes, overweight and obesity prevalence of elevated blood pressure levels showed a gradually increasing trend. The hypertension group prevalence of stroke was significantly higher than normal blood pressure group and high-normal blood pressure group. Conclusion 1. Ningxia residents SBP and DBP average is lower than the national average from 2004 to 2005. The prevalence of hypertension is higher than the national level in 2002, the prevalence of high-normal blood pressure close to the national level, to take timely and effective preventive measures, has an important role to prevent the development of health and health groups as hypertension. (3) in patients with hypertension, stroke, coronary heart disease, diabetes, overweight and obesity prevalence rates than normal blood pressure group. Obesity and unhealthy behaviors and lifestyle constitute a major risk factor for high normal blood pressure and hypertension. High blood pressure has become a major public health problem in the region.
