Abstract


In the concept of art, the Post-impressionist artists stress abandoning natural and traditional constraints, emphasize artistic individuality, fouse on showing their own subjective feelings, the performance and innovation of painting; In the painting language, they fouse on exploring form and structure of the screen and color performance. Post-impressionist artists who uphold different ideas of art create their own unique artistic style and point the way forward to modern art, they play decisive role in the art history. This paper uses many methods to discuss author’s view, such as analysing, summarising and giving examples. It explains their painting concepts, features of painting language and their impact on modern art by analysing their works. That the value of art lies in never repeated exploration and innovation appears particularly important in nowdays art world. So, that we research the Post-impressionist painting which has wide and profound impact upon the later paintings still has very important theoretical and practical value in order that we have a better development in the future art way.
