Abstract


Metaphor traditionally seen as a rhetorical device , but only metaphor as a rhetorical device or linguistic phenomenon to study is not enough . The metaphor essence is a cognitive phenomenon plays an important cognitive function . Human survival on the nature of the way and even the behavior of the basic concepts of system and the human mind are metaphorical . Metaphor is another cognitive domain experience or scope of experience or scope of a cognitive domain , the mapping of the original domain to the target domain , the law of human cognition from near and far , by the entity to a non- entity , from simple to complex , which determines the human body and its organs is the basis of human cognition world . Conceptual metaphor is an important concept in the theory of Lakoff metaphor . The formation of the concept of metaphor is based on the human body based on the experience , so the body has an extremely important role in the development of human cognition . Human metaphor for human understanding of the world an important cognitive style . However, for the study of the human body metaphor has not attracted enough attention . Although there scholars more detailed classification and comparative study of English and Chinese human metaphorical expression , but no detailed analysis of the cause of the human metaphor of cognitive similarities and differences . This article focuses on the physical word of English and Chinese metaphor exploratory study of the system , mainly related to a comparative analysis of body words in English and Chinese , English and Chinese body Words the metaphor working mechanism and characteristics of the similarities and differences between English and Chinese word of the body metaphor mapping mode from a point of view of its causes . The paper is divided into five parts . The first part of this paper is to introduce the research background, research objectives , research methods , as well as the full text of the frame structure . The second part is a literature review describes the history and current status of research at home and abroad metaphor . Chapter analyzed from the perspective of word formation mechanisms and characteristics of the body metaphor in English and Chinese word formation and body English to Chinese word Metaphor . The fourth chapter analyzes the body the word metaphor of Chinese and Western cognitive mapping mode , and the presence of different reasons from three aspects . The fifth chapter is the conclusion , the paper conclude and summarize , and pointed out the limitations and future direction of development .
