Abstract


Combined with political and literary activities of Xunzi, at the base of the famous book XUNZI, reviewed the already-existed academic findings and analyzed the literature ideas and creations of Xunzi, the article finds the root and development of Xunzi’s literary ideas and creations through compared study, and it analyzes in detail the artistic value of different styles of the book XUNZI in order to promote the literary value and state of the book. The article puts great emphasis on Xunzi’s literature ideas, for example "parallel use of literature and practice"; "Taoism"; "quoting the masters"; "revering the classics" and "expressing emotions to achieve purposes". The article discusses the elegant wording of Xunzi’s essays and analyzes its debating art, and through the comparative study of writing techniques in XUNZI, and MENGZI; MUOZI and The History of Zhanguo" reveals that Xunzi’s essays has the characteristics of much-applied rhetoric, beautiful wording and strong logicality. The article also introduces in detail that there are totally literary articles CHENGXIANG and FU in XUNZI, fully assures its significance in Chinese literature
