Abstract


The traditional theory of metaphor is the metaphor as a linguistic phenomenon , a modified discourse rhetorical devices . However, the metaphor is not only a linguistic phenomenon , it is a human cognitive tools and ways of thinking . The Lakoff beyond the shackles of the traditional metaphor research , conceptual metaphor theory . They think that the metaphor penetration in human language and thought processes . Systematic metaphors , many related metaphors often constrained by the concept of a common metaphor , a metaphor for the concept and commanding a series of related metaphors . Lakoff 's metaphor concept theory metaphor research to a new climax . Cognitive metaphor in teaching for Tomoya increasing attention. Metaphor cognitive function are more concentrated in certain areas of expertise , it is a bridge leading to the technology or areas of expertise , and ignore the metaphor in language teaching . A preliminary discussion on the role of metaphor concept in Second Language Teaching .
