Abstract


The theory of socialism with Chinese characteristic, established by Deng Xiaoping, the general designer of the reform and opening-up and modernization construction in China, has greatly promoted our modernization construction. At the same time, his thought of system ethics form gradually, which has advanced our system construction and moral construction, and also promoted the development of market economy. Starting with the implication of system ethics, this thesis analyzes the cultural source and practical origin of Deng Xiaoping’s thought of system ethics, point out its content, and discusses its theoretical and practical significance, trying to find out an idea that can change the present conditions of our morality, help carry out the strategy of governing China both according to law and according to morality, and promote the course of China’s modernization construction. System is used to restrain the behavior of human-being, but system ethics which is the unity resulted from the interaction between system ethics and ethics ideology is morality concept and ethics ideology derived from series of system and the system refined from the certain social ethics principle and moral demand, practical is the system ethics thought of Deng Xiaoping produce philosophy foundation. In Chinese traditional ethics culture concerning the traditional virtue of system and the thought of ethics relation as well as Chinese nation, is the ethics cultural origin of Deng Xiaoping’s thought of system ethics, while the practice of exploring the road of socialist modernization construction that under the times background of peace and development is the practical foundation. Deng Xiaoping’s thought of system ethics consists of four parts: the principles to establish the standards of assessing a system; the standards of assessing the rationality of a system; the value goals of the socialist system, which can be divided into three layers, the primary goal is to emancipate and develop productive forces, the higher goals are to exterminate exploitation and to put an end to polarization, and the ultimate goal is to achieve common prosperity, thereby laying the solid material foundation for realizing the full development of people; the fourth are the ways to realize the value goals of the socialist system. Deng Xiaoping’s thought of system ethics links up with his theory of the essence of socialism closely, and reflects the unity of the standard of productive forces and the standard of people. Researching on and carrying forward this thoughts will be not only beneficial to the development of Marxist ethics and to the constructions of socialist system and morality, but also helpful to the practice of the strategy of governing the country both according to law and according to morality and to the realization of the objective of building up a fully well-off society.
