Abstract


Oil Security is not a new subject, which have aroused the attention of the whole world since two oil crisis. In new century, oil still remains the world "strategic materials" , that makes every state compete to adjust its oil space pattern by all kinds of measures, even by fight.With the high-speed development of economy, our country is more and more reliant crude oil. According to the volume of output, consumption, import, undoubtedly, China is a piece of oil consumption big country. By 2003, China has occupied 4.4% of world oil’s output, 7.6% of the volume of consumption, 4.9% of the import volume of a day, and especially China already account for 40% of the oil consumption increment in the world. With the oil demand increasing and the import volume soaring, our oil output is but relatively wither. It can be expected that our country will be strengthened day by day to the world oil resources. But our country has not still set up the complete safe defense system of oil, which means, the deeper it relies on, the more dangerous it face. So, the environment of the oil supply is getting severe, which makes it necessary and urgent to study and formulate correct oil security strategy.This paper links up oil resource and economic growth closely in the background of economic globalization. By synthetically using such multi-disciplinary knowledge as regional economics , economic geography , geopolitics, it analyzes the contradiction between economic growth and oil shortage, show the danger of depending heavily on outside oil , then puts forward the countermeasures and suggestions to ensure the oil security of our country . Among them, the paper puts emphasis on the site selection of oil reserve base, aiming at surmounting the fetters of the oil interests pattern of international and domestic, realizing the strategic overall arrangement of Chinese oil.This paper includes six parts. Chapter One: chiefly introduces the meaning of selected topic, domestic and international research trends, research approach and the frame, and so on; Chapter Two: explains the mechanism that influencing oil security, and focuses on analyzing the latent contradiction from geography angle because of oil distribution unbalance; Chapter Three: analyzes oil’s importance to our economy, and especially emphasized, with the increase of our industrialization and urbanization process, oil will intensify the impact on our economy continually; Chapter Four: mainly demonstrates that the environment of oil security is severe. On above-mentioned analysis, Chapter Five and Chapter Six have put forward the countermeasures and suggestions to our country’s oil security.
