Abstract


Objective To investigate the allergic conjunctivitis (allergic conjunctivitis) the clinical features and ocular surface cells like the variation . Methods From June 2004 March 2005 clinic 60 cases of allergic conjunctivitis patients and 30 normal controls were conjunctival symptoms, signs quantitative score and conjunctival smear results were analyzed . Results 60 cases of allergic conjunctivitis patients with an average age of 37.66 ± 11.56 years , 23 males and 37 females , male: female = 1:1.6 , mean disease integral 13.24 ± 4.38. Of which 41 cases of acute allergic conjunctivitis ( 68.33% ) , 19 cases of chronic allergic conjunctivitis ( 31.67% ) , the condition of both scores were significantly different (P lt; 0.05). Itchy eyes ( 96.66% ) and conjunctival hyperemia ( 100% ) is the most common allergic conjunctivitis symptoms and signs , 28.3% of patients with a history of allergic disease . 86.67% of patients with allergic conjunctivitis conjunctival scraping the film can be found in eosinophils , and normal control group not found eosinophils . Both in the number of inflammatory cells , conjunctival squamous cell metaplasia levels were significantly different (P lt; 0.01). Conclusion allergic conjunctivitis occurs in young women , eye itching and conjunctival hyperemia its main symptoms and signs. Acute and chronic allergic conjunctivitis allergic conjunctivitis clinical features similar, but the prevalence of acute allergic conjunctivitis was significantly higher than chronic , and chronic allergic conjunctivitis is more serious than acute illness .
