Abstract

Euthanasia is a complicated problem dealing with several disciplines. It leads to widespread concern and varying degrees of controversy in philosophy, ethnics, law, medical science and so on. This kind of controversy is pushed into heat because of the legalization of euthanasia in some countries. Meanwhile, it makes people consider and analyze euthanasia itself. This paper analyzes euthanasia from a brand newperspective--the contrast between Chinese and western cultural tradition. That is to findout the root cause of the controversy by analyzing the influence of Chinese and western culture on euthanasia. Furthermore, it examines and analyzes the mistaken ideas of euthanasia in our academic circle. At the same time, the write, focusing on the problem of euthanasia under the background of our country, points out that with the challenge of different cultures and the continual acceptance of new thoughts in our society, the legalization of euthanasia is an inexorable trend. But in current circumstances, it should be postponed. Finally, drawing on the advanced legislation of foreign countries, the writer proposes some solutions to the legislation of euthanasia and looks to the future.
