Virtual Reality Geographic Information System (VR-GIS) is a computer graphics technology along with the development of technology and human-machine interfaces , in the traditional two-dimensional GIS system developed on the basis of the new GIS system, geographic information systems and virtual reality technology combined product. VR-GIS GIS applications in the extended area , but also to GIS design brings a new problem - how to make better use of GIS spatial data and attribute data , will feature the environment in the form of three-dimensional virtual scene displayed in front of the user , while achieving immersion virtual reality , interactive, conceived of , which is currently the geographic information systems and virtual reality technology and cutting-edge research hotspot directions. This paper studies the virtual reality technology and geographic information systems combined with problems , mainly the introduction of GIS technology in a combination of both to play a major role. The authors participated in the design and implementation of a geographic information system based on virtual reality scene design platform - Mini VR-GIS system . The system MapInfo's MapX control through the secondary development , acquisition, storage and management of spatial data and attribute data , the use of geospatial data to construct three-dimensional virtual scene , and has a GIS spatial query and analysis functions. Currently in the field of GIS , the shortest path search problem on the research and application of more, and the shortest path search problem is widespread concern in the practical application of the urgent need to address the problem . Based on the classic Dijkstra shortest path search algorithm optimized pathway analysis, from the algorithm itself and the two aspects of data storage structure has been optimized Dijkstra algorithm , the improved Dijkstra algorithm and applied Mini VR-GIS system , the tests show that made
